I have been thinking about how to get some slightly more random fabrics in terms of colour, dots and stripes without yet going to the extent of dyeing them myself. Some of the kind of 'patchy' solids look a bit heavy handed to me although it may be less so when used in small quantities. I do really like the look of this dots fabric from Robert Kaufman. It seems quite Japanese and would really well for a lot of different projects.
